Andy Biggs Photo Safaris

Biography - James Weis

James Weis

James is an extremely keen and experienced photographer who spends 6-8 weeks per year in Africa - on safari. He has been going on safaris since the early 1990's and his love and passion for the bush have brought him back every year since.

He grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago and gained his love of animals from his father, who was a landscape architect designing zoos and outdoor wildlife parks throughout the USA.

James' keen enthusiasm over so many years in the bush have given him a guide's knowledge of animal behavior and bush facts, serving him well in his pursuit of special images.

His favorite animals to observe and photograph include leopards, wild dogs and elephants. James is also an avid birder, with a special affection for raptors and bee-eaters.

He has been leading and co-leading photographic workshops in Africa for many years and is always eagerly anticipating his next safari in Africa.
