In February 2028 we will lead a small and intimate group of into India’s best and most photographically productive wildlife areas, search of tigers and so many other subjects. This extremely small group safari combines some of the finest wildlife photography anywhere and at two of India’s best safari areas. We have selected specific camps in Kanha and Pench National Parks to create a small-group safari that is geared specifically toward serious photography and game viewing.

The Schedule

January 29
Arrive Delhi, India and overnight at our boutique hotel

On your arrival in Delhi, India you will be met by our local representative and he will assist you with your bags and will drive you to hotel, where you will spend the night. You will be assisted with your check-in, and depending on the time of day when you arrive you can lounge by the swimming pool, enjoy a nice meal or take in a massage.

January 31 - Day Tour around Delhi

Today we have a fun day of exploring Delhi -with its rich archaeological history that has been built over generations by kingdoms that ruled over the city, Delhi is a melting pot of cultures. It was bred on the milk of royal culture, brought up in the lap of kings and reached maturity in an atmosphere of learning and knowledge.

In the midst of such diversity, how does one experience the true heart of the city? The Five Senses Tour of Delhi is a unique offering where you can feast your senses to your heart’s delight. A carefully curated selection of experiences that will transport you across Delhi’s rich cultural history. As you walk down narrow lanes that have changed over centuries. Experience for yourself the syncretism that has served as both Delhi’s greatest strength and vulnerability.

We come back to the hotel in the late afternoon for some R&R, an early dinner and to get ready for tomorrow.

January 31 - February 5 (4 nights)
Kanha National Park

After an early breakfast you will be chauffered to the airport for your flight to Raipur. The flight will take approximately 2 hours, and upon arrival you will be met by our ground staff and will be driven to your lodge. The drive will take around 4.5 hours, and upon arrival you can relax and settle in at your lodge in time for an early dinner.

Scenic Kanha, once a hunting ground for imperial rulers and viceroys, is now one of India’s most important conservation reserves. With ideal habitat for tigers and their prey, it offers some of India’s best tiger viewing, though it can take effort to locate them in the sun-dappled scrub forest that provides superb camouflage for many species. Greet dawn each day with an early wildlife drive, entering the park just as the sun’s rays break over the jungle. The open meadows where herbivores graze attract tiger, leopard and wild dog to the edges of the clearings, and we’ll hope to see some of these predators on the hunt.

The Banjaar River, which forms the park’s southwestern border, provides a steady water source for wildlife. Dense jungle interspersed with vast grassy meadows called maidans support a range of species similar to those found in Bandhavgarh. Other mammals you might see here include chowsingha (four-horned antelope), common langur, gaur (the world’s largest wild oxen), rhesus monkeys and occasionally leopard. At the close of each day, you retire to the relaxing comforts of the lodge.

We have three days of full-day permits on this trip, allowing us to gain entry into the park early, stay in all day and depart later than other. This is essential for the best photographic opportunities. Benefits of Full Day Permits:

February 5-9 (4 nights)

Pench National Park

Today you will drive to Pench, which will take about 4 hours. A day of travel between camps means you will see many sights on the drive through villages and the countryside. On arrival in Pench you can relax and get to know your accommodations and relax on the veranda with an early evening cocktail.

Located in the Central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, Pench is the 19th Project Tiger Reserve and has been one of the best-kept secrets among wildlife enthusiasts who have long been acquainted with and bedazzled by its immensely varied flora and fauna. No wonder the area providing a backdrop for its animal character dominated by fairly open canopy of mixed forest, predominantly teak, with open grassy patches, the park with its undulating land boasts the highest density of herbivores in any Indian park.

Pench has a large diversity of wildlife, including leopard, tiger, jungle cat, dhole (wild dog), sloth bear, wild boar, mongoose, gaur and the highest density of herbivores including cheetal (spotted deer) and sambar. Pench is a fantastic destination for the wildlife photographer who wants to avoid the busier destinations in India.

February 9 - Pench to Delhi

Today you will have your last game drive in Pench, before going back to Delhi. The drive to Nagpur, where you will board your flight back to Delhi, will take around 3.5 hours. We will transfer you to the Andaz, which is close to the airport. We have you booked in a room for the night and you are free to book your flights back home this evening or the next day. Whatever your choice is we will take care of your transportation to the airport for your flight home.

February 10 - Fly back home

Today we will transfer you back to the airport for your flight back home. Please join us for a 1-2 combo of combining our tiger safari with our snow leopard trip.

The Cost

The cost of this all-inclusive safari is $11,990 per person. The same rate applies for each participant regardless of whether they are doing photography or not. This fee includes everything from when you arrive in Botswana until you leave.

Due to the limited number of spaces available, if a solo guest is willing to share a room and we can match with another guest of the same gender, we will do so. If a solo guest is unwilling to share, then a single supplement of $1,900 will be charged.

We have trip to the Himalayas to photograph snow leopards that begins just after this trip concludes. Please join us if you would like to join us on both trips.

Please note: We will attempt to adhere to this itinerary as much as possible. However, certain conditions (political, climatic, environmental, cultural, or wildlife migrations) may necessitate changes in the itinerary. We reserves the right to alter any itinerary at any time, if necessary. We will attempt to notify participants of changes as far in advance as possible. Costs incurred by such changes will be the responsibility of the participant.
